In kindergarten, we wrote a book about what we like to do with our families.
Second graders enjoyed buddy reading time with the fifth graders. First we got to know each other better by interviewing each other. Then the fifth graders read two awesome stories to the second graders. Finally, the buddies completed a storycube on readwritethink.org about the story they liked the best. We all had a great time!
A few quotes from our fifth graders:
“I never read books to little kids before, but it was fun.”
“I think this is the best way to get to know each other. It’s also a good way to share books with each other.”
“I like the buddy reading thing because we can teach them how to read better.”
“My buddy said this was one of his favorite books ever (Where’s My Dragon?). He thought it was funny when Grandfather didn’t see the dragons that were hidden everywhere.”
